I painted this design with the horse mad little girl in mind (just like I used to be.) It has 10 horses in different colours, so whether bays, chestnuts, palomino's or appaloosa's are her thing, she will love it. She can name each of them and cuddle up with them as she falls asleep. 

These cushions are made out of a gorgeous faux suede, and are very plump and soft. Those of you who bought my Wildflower cushion last year will attest to the excellent quality. Be sure to check out some of the other designs as there are some gorgeous ones, and you make great savings when you buy 2 or more. (Or just, you know, buy 4 of mine for all your horsey friends!)

They Draw Horses, Don't They?

Remember this picture from last year? I entered it in the 'They Draw Horses, Don't They?' competition by Inky Solutions. 

Sadly, I didn't win. But there were so many brilliant entries (you can view them here) that they decided to create an exhibition and gift range from them.

The exhibition is THIS THURSDAY at the Latest Music Bar, in Brighton. It is from 7 - 10 pm and will include live screen printing from The Private Press, and a cartoon workshop with Harry Venning. It sounds really fun! If you are in or around Brighton this week you should definitely check it out! It is also free. You can find out more details HERE.

This my entry for Inky Solution's 'They draw horses, don't they?'  These are two Suffolk Punch horses I photographed at the Hertfordshire County Show last month. They are such beautiful creatures, so big and gentle.

These are my entries for the recent House of Illustration and Folio Society Competition. The brief was to illustrate 3 selected stories from Angela Carter's Bloody Chamber, which those of you who know me will remember is one of my favourite books. I also illustrated some of the stories for my degree, which I blogged in the past here. So I had to give this brief ago. Unfortunately, although I like the paintings, I don't think they were my best work (I think my previous illustrations represent Carter's stories better), and I don't expect I'll come anywhere in the competition. But I still like them enough to share with you all. I am very excited to see the final book though, with the winning illustrations, when it comes out, because as I've said, I love these stories and I really hope I love the illustrations too so I can add them to my bookshelf!

Layers of Time

This was my entry for the 'Picturing Time' competition held by the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. I focused on time as layers, rather than being linear, and in the end came up with the concept of a diary. This is my first proper piece of any kind of animation, and is still quite experimental.
